What is a Retirement Community?

Part independent living, part assisted living, part short-term rehabilitation and part skilled nursing care, retirement communities offer a tiered approach to the aging process by accommodating changing needs.

Upon entering, healthy adults can reside independently in single-family homes or apartments.  When assistance with every day activities becomes necessary, seniors can move into assisted living or skilled nursing care.  Retirement communities give older adults the option to live in one location for the duration of their lives.
